Sluggers End Hyde's Streak
<Glendale:team#16> first baseman <Jerry Hyde:player#6230> came into today's game against the <Louisville Sluggers:team#18> on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Sluggers did their jobs well, beating the <Glendale Cobras:team#16> 4-3 and holding Hyde hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 35-year-old first baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What <Jerry:player#6230> did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Cobras manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

To date <Hyde:player#6230> has chalked up a .289 average with 14 home runs, driven in 51 runs and scored 59 times.
