Pierson Torches Knights for 5 Hits
<Salem:team#28> second baseman <Bryan Pierson:player#5149> had a big day at Salem Stadium today against the <Duluth Knights:team#26>. The 24-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Cherries to a 29-2 triumph over Duluth.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Pierson said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Pierson is batting .424 this season in 43 games with 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has 50 hits in 118 at-bats.
