Rice Bashes 5 Base Hits
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for <Eric Rice:player#10103> today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Duluth Park and paced the Cherries to a 18-9 win over the <Duluth Knights:team#26>.

After his dynamite batting performance, the <Salem:team#28> catcher told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. <Eric Rice:player#10103> hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off <Justin Casey:player#12459> in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

<Rice:player#10103> is presently hitting at a .349 pace with 8 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has played in 44 games and scored 29 times.
