Wildcard Series Goes the Distance, Corpus Christi Prevails
Confederation League fans were certainly not disappointed with this West Wildcard Series.

The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the <Corpus Christi Hooks:team#47> prevailing over the <Tucson Baby Snakes:team#44> to advance to the League Championship Series.

Corpus Christi won the final game by a score of 2-0 at Tucson Stadium and that sealed the series 3-2.

"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said first baseman <Eric Hood:player#6252>, who earned MVP honors.

For the series, Hood hit .533 with a .632 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The <Corpus Christi Hooks:team#47> will play against the <Cadiz Bat Hogs:team#54> in the next round. Cadiz had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
