Warhawks Lose, 5-1, at The Boom Box
The <Washington Resonance:team#91> picked up a win at The Boom Box, knocking off the <Illinois Warhawks:team#74>, 5-1. On the mound for Washington was left-hander <Mendel Fernhout:player#9699>, who played a pivotal role in the win. Fernhout, the winner, moves to 6-6. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. The Resonance raised their record to 35-51.

The Warhawks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Resonance going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old catcher  <Bob Speaker:player#4509> came to the plate. Speaker hit a 2-run  home run on a 1-2 cutter from Illinois hurler <Cristóbal Marín:player#11906>. It was Speaker's 9th home run of the year.

Speaker attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
