5-for-5 Day for Mendia
The <Pensacola Wahoos:team#72> stopped the <Delray Beach Grasshoppers:team#66> by a score of 30-2 at Pensacola Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman <Marco Mendia:player#11251>. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Mendia said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Mendia did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Grasshoppers.

"Not much that I can say," offered Delray Beach manager  . "He just hammered the heck out of us." 

<Marco Mendia:player#11251> hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a sac fly in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off <Jim Unknown:player#-32> in the 8th.

Mendia is hitting .393 this season with 5 home runs, 69 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 88 hits in 224 at-bats.
