Starting Pitcher Installed in Hall of Fame
When you think about some of the greatest names in baseball history, <Jorge Ramírez:player#4803>'s name inevitably pops up. The recently retired hurler, who struck out 3059 batters on his way to a 242-148 record, was a dominating figure on the mound, frustrating hitters and opposing fans everywhere. Now, <Ramírez:player#4803> takes his rightful place among the greats in the American Federation Baseball League Hall of Fame.

"I loved throwing the ball around with my dad back when I was a little kid," <Ramírez:player#4803> recounted for the crowd at the ceremony. "It started out as a way to bond with him and as I got older and began to dream of being a big leaguer. He always encouraged me and never let me give up."

Lifetime, <Jorge Ramírez:player#4803> appeared in 567 games, hurled 3414.2 innings and put up a 3.67 ERA. He retired at the age of 38.
