Alvarado Gets 5 Hits
After his 5-hit effort at Meta Park at the Dog House was tarnished by <Minnesota:team#5>'s 11-9 loss to the <California Bulldogs:team#93>, right fielder <Tom Alvarado:player#12184> told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 20-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Bulldogs.

"His swing is getting there," said Mallards skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. <Tom:player#12184> did that to perfection today and we wasted it."

<Tom Alvarado:player#12184> doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off <Lilian Lallemand:player#11117> in the 9th.

<Alvarado:player#12184> is currently batting .422 with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs.
