Hit Streak Over, Bridegrooms Stop Land
Late in the game, all eyes in Peachtree Stadium were on <Mike Land:player#7095> as he stepped into the batter box. His 25-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Land, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end.

If there was a silver lining for Land today, it was that his <Georgia Titans:team#94> won the game anyway, stopping the <Maryland Bridegrooms:team#76> by the score of 3-2.

"Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," <Land:player#7095> told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 25 straight games. It's something I will always remember."

This season <Land:player#7095> has hit at a .312 clip with 41 RBIs, 5 home runs and 52 runs scored.
