Resonance Fall Short at Illinois, 7-6
The <Washington Resonance:team#91> got a sterling performance from second baseman <José García:player#8497>, but the <Illinois Warhawks:team#74> still prevailed, 7-6. García was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. <Horace O'Neill:player#7308> earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 5-2.  <Joel Ryan:player#2136> converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.

<Pat Johnson:player#7561> was 1 for 3 for Illinois. The 30-year old shortstop  had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring  sacrifice fly off <Josh Hayes:player#2622>. It was his 15th RBI of the season.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Johnson, "but we got it done."

Illinois's record now stands at 28-36, placing them last in the Frontier League East.
