New Jersey Halts Rigsby's Hitting Steak
Late in the game, all eyes in Johnson & Johnson Field were on <Eric Rigsby:player#4954> as he stepped into the batter box. His 27-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Rigsby, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end.

If there was a silver lining for Rigsby today, it was that his <Illinois Warhawks:team#74> won the game anyway, stopping the <New Jersey Athletics:team#80> by the score of 6-4.

"Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," <Rigsby:player#4954> told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 27 straight games. It's something I will always remember."

Presently <Rigsby:player#4954> is hitting .343 with 12 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has played in 36 games and scored 23 times.
