Piranhas Alan Payne to Miss Year
<Nevada:team#178> reliever <Alan Payne:player#3160> could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn labrum. He exited yesterday's <Utah:team#177> game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Payne would be out 4-5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

To date in the season, <Payne:player#3160> is 0-0 with 7 relief appearances and 1 save. He has held opposing batters to a .125 average, pitched 9.1 innings, struck out 10 and walked 2 while recording a 1.93 ERA.
