Blue Pirates Win, 7-5, at New York
<New York:team#78> designated hitter <Steve Miller Jr.:player#3761> had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to <Ontario:team#77> at Twin Stadium. Miller Jr. went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double,  and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. <Chris Ball:player#5035> earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-1.  <Ken Daniels:player#1130> earned his 39th save in 43 chances.

Ontario used the timely hitting of <Conner Mendelson:player#571> to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring  single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Pirates on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Mendelson told the Ontario Citizen. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."

The Blue Pirates, at 72-87, sit in 4th place in the Patriot League North.
