Greats Advance to Union Cup
The League Championship Series may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The <Cooperstown Greats:team#36>, however, are not complaining.

The Greats were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the <Montgomery Kings:team#33> to advance to the Union Cup.

Cooperstown won the final game by a 4-3 count at Field of Dreams and the series 4-2.

Greats third baseman <Colin Coyne:player#5774> was named series MVP, as he hit .381 with a .409 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"It's not going to be the last time Montgomery makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Coyne said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."

The <Cooperstown Greats:team#36> will play against the <Albuquerque Scorpion Kings:team#27> in the next round. Albuquerque won their series against the <Flagstaff Venom:team#30> 4 games to 1. The Union Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
