Potvin Hit String Snapped at 20
For once, it was the <Toronto Blue Jays:team#22> picking up the slack for <Gary Potvin:player#4901>.

The club's "offensive catalyst," as Toronto manager has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent today and saw his 20-game hitting streak snapped by the <Fresno Grizzlies:team#103>. Potvin was bailed out by the rest of the Blue Jays, however, who stopped the Grizzlies, 6-4.

The 31-year-old second baseman finished the day 0-for-4, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."

"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."

So far this year Potvin is batting .353 with 8 home runs, 32 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
