Gators End Santamaria's Streak
It was the best of both worlds for the <Gainesville Gators:team#71> today at The French Fry, as they defeated the <Jupiter Spuds:team#102> 14-3 and also snapped <Leonardo Santamaria:player#10918>'s 20-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Jupiter second baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Santamaria, we just wanted to win the game," said Gators skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Santamaria frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

This year <Santamaria:player#10918> is hitting .330 with 5 home runs and 28 RBIs in 58 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .424 with 33 walks and 37 runs scored.
