Smith Cracks 5 Hits
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for <Chris Smith:player#8246>, it came around today. 

The 21-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of Tennessee to pace the <Tennessee Rascals:team#185> to a 7-6 victory over the <Massachusetts Possums:team#186>. 

<Massachusetts:team#186> skipper   told reporters in the press room that "Smith deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Smith hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." 

<Chris Smith:player#8246> singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off <Oscar Jones:player#9246> in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off <Tim White:player#9948> in the 11th.

In his season totals <Smith:player#8246> has 7 home runs and a .281 batting average.
