Spurs Prevail, 5-3, Over Illinois
The <Texas Spurs:team#73> picked up a win at Arlington Park, knocking off the <Illinois Warhawks:team#74>, 5-3. Starting pitcher <Frédérick Martineau:player#619> was a big reason why. Martineau, now 10-10, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. <Terry Tillson:player#4089> got the save, his 40th in 46 chances.

The Spurs got a big at-bat from third baseman <Joe Lacy:player#7253>. For the game, Lacy went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run  home run. His 26th home run of the season gave Texas a 5-3 lead.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said <Illinois:team#74> manager <Paul Nicholls:manager#44>.

The win gives Texas a season record of 86-73.
