St. Louis Takes League Championship Series in Deciding Game
Explorer League pundits who figured the League Championship Series between the <St. Louis Sportsman:team#10> and <Oklahoma City Whirlwind:team#13> would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with St. Louis coming out on top thanks to a 13-2 win in the deciding game at Whirlwind Alley, to wrap things up 4-3.

"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Sportsman first baseman <Chris Régnier:player#720>, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Régnier had 12 hits for a .387 average. He had 3 home runs, 10 RBI and scored 7 runs.

The <St. Louis Sportsman:team#10> will play against the <Toronto Blue Jays:team#22> in the next round. Toronto won their series against the <Birmingham Vulcans:team#20> 4 games to 3. The Explorer Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
