Vipers Clonk Warhawks, 9-3
The <Illinois Warhawks:team#74> and <Arizona Vipers:team#6> were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The <Arizona Vipers:team#6> relied on the hitting of first baseman <Luppe Mathijssen:player#11371> to stop the <Illinois Warhawks:team#74>, 9-3. For the game, Mathijssen was 2-4 with a home run, a double,  and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. <Luca Pretzsch:player#11957>, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on 2 hits.

Mathijssen contributed a big hit, a 2-run  home run, for Arizona in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Mathijssen took a fastball from <Max O'Neil:player#10160> and stroked the home run to right. His 25th home run of the season allowed the Vipers to leap in front, 4-3.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Mathijssen told the Arizona News. 

The Warhawks have now dropped 6 straight.
