Vipers Earn 5-4 Win Versus Warhawks
The <Arizona Vipers:team#6> did just enough to secure a victory over the <Illinois Warhawks:team#74>, 5-4, at Todd Berry Memorial Field. Nobody did more than pitcher <Arturo Vega:player#9038>. Vega went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 10-7.  Illinois's current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Arizona needed the clutch hitting of <Luppe Mathijssen:player#11371> to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run  home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vipers on top, 5-4. For the game, <Mathijssen:player#11371> had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Mathijssen told the Arizona News.
