No-Hit Masterpiece by Mota
<Cristo Mota:player#7028> really did a number on the <Alabama Yellowhammers:team#3> at Farmers Market Stadium today -- and that number was zero.

The <Ontario Blue Pirates:team#77> hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Blue Pirates to victory, 11-0.

"This is something special," Mota said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look."

The right-hander faced only 27 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 24 and walked 0.

"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Alabama manager <Nick Holliday:manager#73> said when asked about the epic performance. "<Mota:player#7028> was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number."

This season <Mota:player#7028> has fanned 154 in 125.1 innings and collected a 8-6 record with a 3.73 ERA.
