Toronto Loses Rubén Figueroa for Season
The doctors have spoken and <Rubén Figueroa:player#7981> of the <Toronto Blue Jays:team#22> didn't like what he heard. The 34-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Figueroa sustained his season-ending injury during the <Atlanta Peaches:team#107> game yesterday at Toronto Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the <Toronto:team#22> medical staff reported <Figueroa:player#7981> had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months.

This year <Figueroa:player#7981> has fashioned a 3-1 mark, 5.18 ERA and pitched 41.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .221 against him and he has logged 44 strikeouts.
