Colon Strokes 5 Hits
<Guadalupe Colon:player#11620> was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over St. Petersburg Park, collecting 5 hits. His day of glory wasn't able to win the game, however. The <Orlando Oceanics:team#57> got the 18-17 victory over the <St. Petersburg Crocodiles:team#61>.

"I never realized that a few hits could cause so much commotion," the center fielder said in the clubhouse after the game, crowded by reporters. "Headlines and highlights are great, but it takes a lot of luster off it that we lost."

After his first couple of hits, all eyes in the ballpark were on him each time <Colon:player#11620> stepped into the batter's box. Even some opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little slice of baseball history unfold.

When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and said "relax, concentrate, and hit the ball where they ain't."

That's exactly what he did today, as Colon finished the game with 5 hits in 8 at-bats and a line in the record book. <Guadalupe Colon:player#11620> doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th, was hit by a pitch in the 9th, hit a two-run double in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th and flied out in the 14th.

So far this year in 36 games Colon is hitting .255 with 2 home runs, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
