Eagles Chill Whitehead's Hot Streak
<Pittsburgh:team#23> right fielder <Dave Whitehead:player#120> came into today's game against the <Wilmington Eagles:team#24> on a hot streak. When it was over, the Eagles did their job very well. They beat the <Pittsburgh Crawfords:team#23> 5-3 and cooled him off at the same time. <Wilmington:team#24> stopped Whitehead without a hit and his 32-game hitting streak came to an end.

The 30-year-old Whitehead only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."

His manager commented, "What <Dave:player#120> did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 32 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

So far this year <Whitehead:player#120> is hitting .342 with 14 home runs.
