New Jersey Takes Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
American Federation Baseball League pundits who figured the Wildcard Series between the <New Jersey Athletics:team#80> and <Georgia Titans:team#94> would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with New Jersey coming out on top thanks to a 5-3 win in the deciding game at Johnson & Johnson Field, to wrap things up 4-3.

"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Athletics first baseman <Luis Antonio Pérez:player#5163>, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Pérez had 10 hits for a .345 average. He had 4 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The League Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
