Danger Win at Illinois, 7-4
<Illinois:team#74> got a terrific game from third baseman <Danny George:player#148>. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to <New Mexico:team#1>, 7-4. George was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. <Mike Woodard:player#9293> was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. <Juan Jose Sousa:player#5897> got the save, his 13th in 13 chances.

<Sam Raith:player#8790>, who finished 5th in the FL in slugging percentage with .553 last year, aided the New Mexico cause with a run-scoring  triple in the top of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Raith.

New Mexico has now won 3 in a row.
