Everett Given 2-Game Suspension
The agitation was hot and heavy at Field of Dreams yesterday. After a called third strike Canadians shortstop <Jerry Everett:player#2517> protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Everett was ejected from the game.

"It was verbal, nothing more," according to Everett. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 2 games.

"The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification.

This season <Everett:player#2517> is batting .231 with 3 home runs.
