Warhawks Subdue California, 6-4
<California:team#93> designated hitter <Jorge Gonzáles:player#2670> had a good game, even if his team did not. The Bulldogs dropped a 6-4 decision to <Illinois:team#74> at Bulldog Stadium. Gonzáles was 2-3 with a home run, a double,  and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. <Max O'Neil:player#10160>, the winner, improved to 7-4. He held the Bulldogs to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Warhawks now have a record of 36-49 with the win over California.

It could have been a different outcome for Illinois, had it not been for <Bob Hill:player#3838>, the 12-year veteran . Hill contributed a run-scoring  double in the top of the seventh inning to put Illinois up, 5-4.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Hill told the Illinois Observer.
