Velásquez Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 21
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 21-game hitting streak, <Utah:team#177> second baseman <Pepe Velásquez:player#9974> went hitless in 4 at-bats today at Utah Grounds.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Rhinos took the 10-9 win over the <Louisiana Admirals:team#179>.

"Nope, it's not magic," Velásquez said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

This season <Velásquez:player#9974> has delivered 46 hits in 145 at-bats for a .317 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .383 clip and his totals also include 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored. This year <Velásquez:player#9974> has played in 34 games.
