No Hits for Domínguez, Streak Ends at 26
For 26 straight games, <Juan Domínguez:player#572> tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 30-year-old <Raleigh Explorers:team#17> first baseman can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the <Colorado Springs Avalanche:team#14>. The Avalanche held him hitless in 6 at-bats at Avalanche Park today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 26.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Explorers took the win by the score of 2-1.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

In 8 games this year Domínguez has posted a .286 average and put up these numbers: 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
