Warhawks Score Late, Upend Explorers, 7-4
The <Oregon Explorers:team#75> got a superb performance from pitcher <Dave Winter:player#8454>. Still, it wasn't enough to beat <Illinois:team#74>. The Warhawks won the game, 7-4. In spite of the loss, Winter was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. Illinois reliever <T.J. Stone:player#11591> was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. <Rubén Gómez:player#10641> took the loss for Oregon. Oregon, at 7-17, is off to a poor start in 2054.

Illinois took a 7-4 lead on <Xing-peng Hsi:player#2401>'s 4th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Oregon pitcher <Albert Elías:player#8460> in the bottom of the ninth.

"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Hsi. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
