Warhawks Nip Lions, 5-4
<Kentucky:team#7> got a terrific performance from third baseman <Jimmy Williams:player#7813>, but it wasn't enough to beat the <Illinois Warhawks:team#74>. Illinois won the Todd Berry Memorial Field contest, 5-4. Williams was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. <T.J. Stone:player#11591> got the save, his 30th in 34 chances. Illinois is now 64-69. Kentucky is 58-75.

Had <Xing-peng Hsi:player#2401> not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hsi hit a run-scoring triple. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Warhawks.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Kentucky manager . "But we decided not to take it."
